The VIN is a car's passport. It can reveal almost everything: ownership history, accidents, repairs, mileage and legal cleanliness. For us, a VIN check is a mandatory stage before any purchase, and here's how we do it.
Matching the VIN against documents
First, we match the VIN on the body against the VIN in the documents (title) and make sure the number hasn't been re-stamped and is legible on all factory plates. This is the basic protection against legal problems.
History through Carfax
Carfax shows registered accidents, service records, ownership changes and odometer readings across different periods. We pull the report for every unit and send it to you — you see the same picture we do.
What else we check
Beyond the history, we examine the body for signs of repainting and bodywork, check the condition of the suspension and interior, and bring in an independent inspection when needed. Any discrepancy between the report and the facts is a reason to decline the unit.
