Rates are current as of August 2026. The final calculation is made on the date of clearance and depends on the specific vehicle.
At the three-litre mark both the higher recycling-fee coefficient and the excise switch on at once. Crossing it costs roughly 1.7 million tenge in additional charges — regardless of what the car itself costs.
Recycling fee at coefficient 5.0. No excise at all. This band covers the Lexus RX 350, TX 350 and NX 350h, the Toyota Highlander and RAV4.
Coefficient 11.5 plus excise — about another 344,500 tenge for a 3.4-litre engine. This band covers the Lexus LX 600 and GX 550, and the Toyota Sequoia.
Zero recycling-fee coefficient and zero customs duty. Hybrids do not qualify for this exemption.
