Both are Ski-Doo mountain sleds on the REV Gen5 platform, and this is the choice people most often face. The difference is not class but power delivery and how the machine behaves at the limit.

The Summit X suits riders who want lightness and obedience in deep snow: the naturally aspirated 850 E-TEC is predictable and easier to read on a slope. The turbo Freeride is about reserve power at altitude, where an atmospheric engine falls off, and about aggressive riding with jumps — the reinforced suspension is built for exactly that. A newcomer to the mountains is better on a Summit X; an experienced freerider on a Freeride.
Both are in stock. Tell us the job and the destination country and we will price each turnkey — and say where the difference matters more than the spec sheet suggests.
